Michael Gechter and Gustavo Rojo join Formentera jazz line-up

jazz a la placaGuitarist, violinist and Berlin-native Michael Gechter; Argentinian saxophonist Gustavo Rojo and French keyboard-pianist Alex de Lange will all participate in this coming Saturday's presentation of Jazz a la Plaça.

The musicians will join the Jazz&Co group's regular line-up, a mix of Formentera-based musicians Toni Gartell (bugle and violin); Bruce Gartell (drums); Vicent Rosselló (bass); Enrique González (guitar); and José Guzmán (trombone).

Making this summer's edition of the yearly concert series even more special, Jazz a la Plaça – a music programme organised by the Jazz&Co collective and with the support of the Formentera Council – enters into its twentieth run this year. The popular programme consists of a jazz concert held every Saturday night during summer on the square in Sant Francesc de Formentera.

To commemorate the special occasion this year, on Wednesday, 23 July – skirting schedule conflicts with the Flower Power party the following weekend – preparations are in the works for a concert that will include the participation of Joachim Kühn and the Ibiza Band and close with the programme's traditional jam session.
