Post office box service now in Es Cap

The Formentera Island Council presently announces the start of post office box services for inhabitants of the Es Cap area of the island.

In view of the positive reception of post office boxes in La Mola and of the fact that Es Cap residents also face the same difficulty as their neighbours in La Mola - neither locality has a mail delivery service available and residents of Es Cap are required to pick up all correspondence at the Sant Francesc location of Correos - the Council has decided to install post office boxes in the old schools of the area.

Two hundred sixty-seven post office boxes will be installed at the entrance of the Es Cap senior centre in a separate room equipped to this effect. Lit both naturally by means of a stained-glass window along the side of the centre, and with artificial lighting.

Es Cap residents who wish to request the service must sign up at the Citizen Information Office (la OAC) in Sant Francesc Xavier between Monday 21 July and Friday 29 August. Once the sign-up period has concluded, the Council will contact applicants to inform them they can retrieve keys to both the locale and their assigned mailbox. Mailboxes will be assigned one per household. Applicants must provide the certificat d'empadronament, a photocopy of the DNI and a one-time payment of 25€."
