Traffic along Sant Francesc-La Savina and Sant Ferran-Sant Francesc routes to be cut for John Tunks run

The sections of highway linking Sant Francesc with La Savina, La Savina with Es Pujols/Sant Ferran and Sant Ferran with Sant Francesc will remain closed to vehicle traffic between 11:30am and 12:45 midday on Saturday 6 December.

The reason for the closure is the XXXVI annual John Tunks memorial run, arranged to follow the abovementioned itinerary. The roads will be re-opened progressively as participants of the run advance. All the thoroughfares will be completely open and operational by 12:45.

In an attempt to keep all accidents and potential surprises to a minimum, caution is asked of any drivers on the road at this time, especially along the smaller arteries that feed into the affected highways.

Local police and civil protection volunteer forces will oversee the closure and re-opening of the roads. The Council apologises for the inconvenience and wishes to thank island residents for their patience while we ensure that, with the roads closed, footraces on Formentera like this one are more attractive and comfortable for runners.
