Archives of image and sound open to the public

The image and sound archive service of the Council of Formentera have opened their doors to the public this morning, and they will remain open every Thursday from 9am to 12 noon. The image and sound service was formed with the objective of creating a library to preserve and promote the collective memory, culture, landscapes and economy of Formentera.

The arxiu is located on the first floor of the CiF office of culture's multipurpose building, and will be staffed by the personnel of the Marià Villangómez library. Acquiring the equipment necessary for the archival of audiovisual material related to Formentera had a cost of €36,707, of which 60% – or €22,024 – was provided by the Eivissa and Formentera local action group by way of the Leader project.
