'Habitar', a group exhibition and artistic immersion in the local social fabric, at 'Ajuntament Vell'

The Office of Culture of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report that from 29 May to 10 June, the "Ajuntament Vell" exhibition space will host "Habitat", a spring group exhibition organised and promoted by the Association of Artists of Formentera (ADAF) with the participation of 15 local artists.

The artists' decision to unite their talents in a group exhibition was born from the urgent need to address the issue of housing in our society. This unique and diverse exhibition highlights the artists' sense of social responsibility in sharing their vision on the crucial and sensitive subject of housing and our place on the island, and transform it into works of art.

Under the concept of "inhabiting", each artist has channelled their emotions and personal perspectives into the work, bringing together a wide range of styles and disciplines. The exhibition will include both two-dimensional and three-dimensional works, with oil and acrylic paintings, mixed techniques, photography, wood sculptures, and other forms of artistic expression. The group exhibition is a unique opportunity to discover and appreciate local artistic talent and the diversity of approaches to this timely theme. "The exhibition is a reminder that art is a universal language capable of transcending barriers and connecting people. Not only does it give local artists a platform to express themselves, but also invites us all to explore and question our relationship with the environment around us", explained ADAF.

Participating artists include Anna Reina, Bea Cubero, Brenda Novak, Diana Masiliauska, Emilia Brussoni, Fran Lucas Simón, Laura Larocca, Lola Raya, Marco Sánchez Noé, Maria Lagrange, Maribel Escandell Guasch, Irina Zadek, Simona Colzi, Silvina Taffuri and Teresa Matilla.

"Habitar" opens Monday 29 May at 8.00pm, and can be seen until 10 June, Tuesday to Saturday, 11.00am to 2.00pm and 7.00pm to 9.00pm in the Sala d'Exposicions "Ajuntament Vell".
