Course helping foreign-born islanders through social and cultural integration to take place 3 to 31 March

The immigration department of the Formentera Office of Social Welfare (Conselleria de Benestar Social, CBSF) is pleased to report that the 17th Course on Social and Cultural Integration for foreign nationals residing on Formentera will be held from 3 to 31 March at the adult learning centre (Escola d'Adults).

Registration for the free course runs 21 February to 2 March at CBSF's new offices inside the Formentera Day Centre in Es Brolls. For complete details, please call 971 321 271 or send an e-mail to immigración@conselldeformentera.cat.

Individuals who complete the 20-hour course can receive an integration report from the Balearic Islands' regional government as well as preparation for the CCSE citizenship test. In twice weekly sessions, students learn about the constitutional values of the Spanish state, human rights and civil liberties, the Balearic Statute of Autonomy, the European Union and gender equality.

Rafael Ramírez, Councillor of Social Welfare, highlighted the Consell de Formentera's long-standing commitment to "helping Formentera's foreign-born residents to integrate and stay on the right side of government procedures to regulate their immigration status". Another edition of the course will be held in November.
