The Office of Local Development of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report that 14 people have completed training and employment programmes for activity leaders and socio-health care attendants developed by the Balearic Islands Employment Service (SOIB) and Consell in the last year. Eight unemployed over-30s completed SOIB 30, a programme on socio-health care for dependents in social institutions, while six 16- to 29-year-olds completed SOIB Jove, a programme focused on leisure programmes and the Catalan language.
On a visit, Ana Juan, president and enterprise councillor of the Consell, praised students for successfully completing the training and wished them a productive future in employment.
The two programmes, which began 24 November 2022 and lasted six months, promote training and employment. Socio-health care students completed work practise at the Formentera Day Centre and seniors' residence, while those in the course for leisure activity leaders received on-site experience at the basketball and judo schools and Casal de Joves.
