Consell de Formentera invites personnel to raise glasses for Christmas

foto-2019-brindis-1Consell de Formentera president Alejandra Ferrer and the entire governing team invited the administration workforce to join them in celebrating a holiday tradition by raising their glasses for a Christmas toast. Ferrer called it “an extra special moment”, noting the Yuletide reception was her first since taking office as president.

Ferrer took the opportunity to applaud the daily efforts of Consell personnel “who work hard to guarantee premium public services for islanders”. She underscored expansion of the labour force since the Consell de Formentera was created 12 years ago, saying such growth “and the efforts of the women and men who make up our team” were “crucial to maintaining new services that have come along the way”.

“This Consell exists to better the lives of Formentera residents”, she said. “To make an island that is people-focused and sustainable—and that’s something we couldn’t do without the daily toil of personnel”.

Students of culinary, gastronomical and catering job training programmes, not to mention those in basic vocational training at Marc Ferrer High School, offered drinks and appetizers.
