Subsidies for four groups developing pro-integration projects for immigrants

intercultural4The Formentera Council, by way of the local office of social welfare, has decided to provide financial backing in the amount of 10,835€ to four associations organising projects that favour the integration of immigrant groups on the island.

The goal of the subsidies: help associations that are working to develop projects and activities for immigrants and that, in so doing, are promoting the successful integration of these populations.

Slated to receive funding are Associació Cultural Andalusa de Formentera (4,000€), Associació de la Festa Intercultural de Formentera (4,000€), Casa Extremeña de Ibiza y Formentera (2,475€)
and Associación Al Magreb por la Integración (360€).

This is not the first time the Formentera Council oversees initiatives of this sort. In 2010 and 2011, the Council signed direct accords with associations that work with Formentera's immigrant communities.

Since 2012, a policy of subsidies has been favoured over direct accords. Three such assistance packages were granted during that year and two more were conceded in 2013.
