Consell unveils this year's €8,500 research grant

The Office of Heritage of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to announce that applications for its 2023 research grant are now being accepted and interested parties can view the terms of the call on the BOIB. Applicants may send in submissions until 24 May.

"The goal of this €8,500 grant is to promote local research in the fields of the arts, humanities and social sciences", explained Raquel Guasch, heritage councillor. As the councillor put it, "research work helps us to deepen the knowledge of our island from a scientific perspective".

Following the collection of submissions, an evaluation committee formed by various members will evaluate project proposals based on scientific interest, coherence and methodology, as well as the curricula vitae of the researchers. The research work for which the grant is awarded must be carried out within twelve months from the day following receipt of notification of the award.

The two previous winning projects were Manuel Suárez Salvà's "El camp de concentració de Formentera" (2022) and Pau Sureda and Jordi Revelles's ''Paleoformentera. History of the landscape and management of plant resources by the first settlers of Formentera'' (2021).
