With questionnaire, Formentera youth participate again in creating third Plan for Children and Youth

The Office of Youth Affairs of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to report that a questionnaire is being administered that will allow local 11- to 19-year-olds to help design youth policies in the years ahead. This survey is part of a study to develop Formentera's third Plan for Children and Youth.

"If you had a magic wand, what would you want to do on Formentera?" is the question put to young people at the start of a questionnaire about possibilities for leisure, culture, free time, citizen participation, health, peer relationships, etc.

As explained by Vanessa Parellada, youth affairs councillor, "the responses will guide us in developing this third strategic plan for Formentera children and youth. The plan will also include the participation of entities and social partners from all areas of Formentera related to children and youth."

"This information will serve to update our study of local children and youth's situation, and will shape an analysis highlighting which needs are best met, the achievements of the second Plan and the direction that the next plan will take, as well as the projects it will include", added Councillor Parellada.

Form
Responses are anonymous, and the form can be filled out at the following address: shorturl.at/dlFZ9. A poster with a QR code will also be posted on social media and on the Consell de Formentera website to invite young people to participate. The questionnaire has additionally been distributed among pupils at IES Marc Ferrer and youth at the Casal de Joves.

foto 2023ii cdjThe Office of Youth Affairs of the Consell de Formentera is pleased to announce the activities scheduled at the Casal de Joves this February. Vanessa Parellada, youth affairs councillor, explained that, as every month, young people and staff at the island's youth drop-in centre "have tailored a programme to the tastes of Casal youth, with everything from classic creative games to more recent hits like a trip to the go-kart track on Eivissa."

The programme starts today with a film night, settee and popcorn included, and a second session will take place Wednesday 22 February. This Friday (3 February), it's a universal classic and favourite among youth at the Casal: bowling, this time using repurposed material. And Saturday (4 February), Casal youth can belt out all their favourite tunes at an individual and group karaoke session.

Next Wednesday (8 February), a mask-making workshop will be held ahead of this month's Carnival. Then on Friday (10 February), the crowd at the Casal will prepare a classic recipe, rice pudding. Saturday (11 February) is the day to plug in the Wii Sport to enjoy virtual sports in pairs and groups.

The activities continue on Wednesday 15 February with freestyle dance, self-expression games and rhythmic movement. At Dance al Casal, Thursday 16 February, participants will stage a group choreography. Saturday 18 February, youth can get decked out in temporary tattoos. Friday 24 February, the gang will play the family version of memory and card games with familiar faces from the Casal and beyond.

Go-karting on Eivissa
Finally, one of the most eagerly awaited activities on the bill happens Saturday 25 February: an outing to the Eivissa go-kart track. Advance registration is required, but the activity is free for all Casal members.

The Casal de Joves team leads all activities. The centre is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 4.00pm to 10.00pm. More information about activities is available on site, or by sending an email to casal@conselldeformentera.cat or calling 971 323 493.
