The Formentera Department of Infrastructure reports that construction is now under way on roads and other infrastructure enabling access to the new Sant Ferran school. The €1.17 million project is expected to be complete by late August.
Infrastructure chief Josep Marí said the work would permit entry and exit to the new school and should be complete by the start of the school year.
The two-way, six-metre-wide access road will include a pavement and green zone parking as well as angled parking to accommodate 49 cars.
In front of the school there will be an area of priority access for pedestrians and a parking space for school buses. Another parking area will feature two spots for reduced mobility vehicles and two for e-vehicle recharge.
The area will be equipped with outdoor lighting and street furniture, not to mention utilities like sanitation, potable water, low-voltage power and telephone lines.
