Remodel of Frank Jackson children's park complete

Frank Jackson2 250115The Formentera Council's office of the environment has completed remodel work on the Frank Jackson children's park in Sant Francesc Xavier. Construction at the park, which is located directly opposite the Marc Ferrer secondary school, had a price tag of €35,575.

The work consisted primarily in the installation of new rubber flooring, a safety measure, and the repair of certain games at the park, which have been returned to near-original conditions.

The changes also included work on greenery at the park: trees received pruning and additional up-keep and new species of flora were planted. Other maintenance was carried out on lighting and more generally throughout the park: new lights were installed, benches and siding were cleaned and repainted and gravel was added to the walkways that traverse the site.

€110,000 in remodel work at children's parks

The Frank Jackson children's park is the third to be remodelled in less than a year. In April 2014 the Illes Pitiüses park of La Savina was revamped in a project that cost €50,000. Several months later, the Bob Baldon park was relocated to the Sant Ferran schoolyard at a cost of €25,000. All together, the combined investment at the three parks totalled €110,000.
