Saturday 15 August marks the start of what is being billed as the second ever “pirate disembarkment”—a festival organised by the group Qué Celeste. The fun starts at 5.00pm with a guided kayak trip followed by a cleanup of Es Pujols beach an hour later. Festivalgoers can look forward to a special performance at 7.00pm, with a circus display to animate the crowd at Plaça d’Europa from 9.00pm. Reservations are required for all activities and can be obtained by emailing quecelestefestival@gmail.com.
The Qué Celeste Festival programme unfolds over several days :
From 8.00pm on 22/23 August, Sa Senieta will play host to a performance of “La habitación del arte”. Music by Desiré Paredes.
A bicycle ride on 29 August.
Other activities from 4–27 September, including a beach cleanup, stage productions, lectures, feminism-themed gatherings, concerts, circus performances and a slam poetry competition.
Activities are intimately-scaled and require reservations due to covid-19 prevention measures. The Consell de Formentera collaborates with Qué Celeste Festival Formentera, organisers of the event.
